Greetings for 2012!

I trust that you had a good break with your family over the Christmas & New Year period and you are looking forward to great things in 2012.

Myanmar Trip – Oct 2011

In October, I had the opportunity to travel to Myanmar for Church Empowerment Ministry. This was my second trip Myanmar this year, so it was great to return and see the changes that have taken place. Since last year’s elections, there have been significant improvements in many areas. The Government has demonstrated a willingness to see the country develop, so they have opened 10 International Banks to encourage foreign investment. The International Monetary Fund has visited Myanmar recently to look at registering their currency on the foreign exchange. Government Officials have met with Church Leaders and they said that they like the Christians, because the Christians care for our children. They have started to improve the roads and are introducing new vehicles to replace older vehicles. Young People now want to stay in their country once they graduate from Uni, because they see a future. It is a great time for the Church, so please continue to pray for God’s Favour.

When I was in Myanmar, I conducted two Church Empowerment Training Programs outside Yangon. The first one was attended by approximately 80 Pastors, Leaders & Co-Workers, and the second one was attended by about 35 leaders. It was great to come alongside the Church in Myanmar and provide equipping for Church Mobilization. One of the key leaders had only recently been to Korea to attend a conference at Dr Paul Yonggi Cho’s Church, and he said that when he returned he asked God to help mobilize the Church After attending the Church Empowerment Training, he was so excited because he now had the tools to do it.

Personal Empowerment

I have recently met with several people to discuss how they can fulfil God’s Plan in their life. Often knowing what you should do is one thing, but how to do it is another thing. CE Personal Empowerment is all about helping people clarify what they feel God wants to do thru them, and then to draft a Strategic Plan with practical steps on how to get there. I have got several templates that I use to assist people in this area, so it is exciting to see people empowered to move forward in their calling.

There are seven steps that I use in the CE Mentoring Plan to help guide people thru this process.

They are as follows:

·         Determine Outcomes

·         Analyse Current Reality

·         Explore Available Options

·         Set Realistic Goals

·         Develop an Action Plan

·         Implement the Plan

·         Review Your Progress

In addition to the Mentoring Plan, I have a CE Strategic Plan Template which provides a framework for answering the ‘What? How? When? & Where?’ questions. If you would like more information on CE Personal Empowerment, give me a call on 0408 995 212 to have a chat.

Chin@ Trip – Dec 2011

Unfortunately, due to financial constraints, I had to postpone this trip until 2012. In order to build up CE Finances again, I will not travel for the next three months (Nov.11, Dec.11 & Jan.12). It has been a busy year and with many things happening on the home front, I decided it was best to postpone this trip. I am currently reviewing the CE Regional Support Program, so please pray for wisdom in order to see the ministry in these regions continue.

On the Home Front!!!!!

We had a relaxing week’s holiday on Rottnest Island before Christmas, which was really nice. It is really hard eating ‘King George Whiting’ or ‘Dew Fish’ or ‘Sambo’ or ‘Breaksea Cod’ or ‘Coral Trout’, etc.  Melissa and Gideon were up from Albany for Christmas and they are expecting their first baby this year too!!! That will make us Grandparents too!!!! Kara and Daniel are doing really well and it was so good to go away with Daniel’s parents for our holiday. Jessica has returned from six months with YWAM in India, Thailand & Nepal. She had an amazing time. It was really tough, but she wants to go again. Emma has finished Year 12 and she is now working 3 days a week as a volunteer worker at the Esther House for Young Woman. She was also nominated for the South Perth Youth Volunteer of the Year Award recently. Lisa is doing well and glad to have all the girls at home for Christmas. We are doing really well with our building. The roof should go on later this month, so hopefully we should be in by the end of March.

Thank you for your on-going prayers and support for Church Empowerment and I pray that God will continue to bless you and your family in 2012.

Kind Regards,

Nev
